Chevron is seeking apprentice and skilled pipefitters to work on long-term contract between $25 and $45 an hour including medical/dental benefits and vacation pay.

Skilled Craft Pipefitter”A” (NCCER Certified Plus) is a craftsman with specialized training and Skill Verification with reading blueprints and interpreting drawings to layout and construct piping spools associated with industrial piping installations. This individual is very well versed in all types of metals and other piping materials. The pipe fitter should also be well versed in rigging and be able to install piping systems of varying size and configuration.

Skilled Craft Pipefitter”B” (NCCER Certified) is a craftsman (NCCER Certified) who has the proven qualifications and tested knowledge that is capable of reading blueprints and interpreting drawings to layout and construct piping spools associated with industrial piping installations. This individual is very well versed in all types of metals and other piping materials. The pipe fitter should also be well versed in rigging and be able to install piping systems of varying size and configuration.

Skilled Craft PipefFitter”C” (Non-Certified) is a craftsman who has the proven qualifications that is capable of reading blueprints and interpreting drawings to layout and construct piping spools associated with industrial piping installations. This individual is very well versed in all types of metals and other piping materials. The pipe fitter should also be well versed in rigging and be able to install piping systems of varying size and configuration.

Skilled Craft Pipefitter”D” (Apprentice) is the first progression step up from a general refinery helper into a specific craft category. The Trainee is equipped with the basic knowledge, skills and aptitude required to perform the following: Identify hoses, hose fittings and quick disconnects; operate air operated equipment. The Trainee should have had training and be competent in basic rigging, basic pipefitting, blinding and de-blinding, pipe threading and cutting. The Trainee should have had training and be competent in basic refinery safety rules and regulations. The trainee needs to fulfill all off-site training, on-the-job training, hours requirements and any assessment testing prescribed by the training dept before being considered/elevated to the C classification.
